Safety-Related Work Practices

The OSHA Construction Electrical Standard requires safety-related work practices to reduce the risk of an electrical accident.

The OSHA Construction Electrical Standard sets out electrical-safety-related work practices for both qualified people and unqualified people working on, near, or with electric installations used to provide power and light to jobsites.

The OSHA Construction Electrical Standard's provisions for safety-related work practices also apply to work on certain installations when it is performed by either of the following people:

  • Unqualified people on, near, or with the installations
  • Qualified people not on or directly associated with the installations
