Wiring Methods, Components, and Equipment for General Use
The OSHA Electrical Standard includes design safety standards for wiring methods; components such as switches, conductors, cords, and cables; and equipment for general use. These rules do not apply to conductors that form an important part of equipment such as motors, controllers, motor control centers, and similar equipment. These requirements are covered in 29 CFR 1026.405.
Wiring Methods
Metal raceways, cable armor, and other metal enclosures for conductors must be metallically joined together into a continuous electric conductor and must be connected to all boxes, cabinets, and fittings so that there is electrical continuity.
No wiring systems of any type may be installed in ducts that are used to transport dust, loose stock, or flammable vapors.
