Oxygen-Fuel Gas Welding & Cutting
Oxygen-fuel gas welding, also referred to as oxy welding or gas welding, uses pure oxygen, instead of air, to increase the torch temperature. This allows for localized melting of the material, such as steel, in a room environment. A standard propane and air flame burns at about 3,630 °F. A propane and oxygen flame burns at about 4,530 °F, and an acetylene and oxygen flame burns at about 6,330 °F.
