Hot Work Permits

Hot work permits should only be issued by the authorized PAI on duty.

Permits should contain, at minimum, the following information:

• The type of work being performed and the tools associated with the work
• The location of the work being performed
• The name(s) of the individual(s) performing the work
• A check-list of steps necessary to ensure the safety of the work area, and any necessary protective equipment required for the work
• A date of issue and an expiration time
• The signatures of an authorized PAI and the individual(s) performing the work
