Employee Training & Information

Employers have many responsibilities related to protecting workers, such as making sure they are properly screened by medical professionals and cleared for work in lead-exposed areas (and ensuring they have the right equipment to work on these worksites).

Another important part of protecting workers is ensuring they are properly trained. Under OSHA's Hazard Communication standard for the construction industry, 29 CFR 1926.59, employers must inform employees about lead hazards via warning signs, labels, safety data sheets (SDSs), and employee information and training.

Refer to 29 CFR 1910.1200 for more details about this training and for more specifics about the topics in this section of the course.
