Examples of Protective Clothing & Equipment
It will be up to the employer to take into consideration the worksite, job duties, and potential hazards before selecting the appropriate equipment. Therefore, OSHA only offers examples of what may be deemed "appropriate" clothing.
Some examples of appropriate protective work clothing and equipment for lead exposure at construction sites includes the following:
- Coveralls or other full-body work clothing
- Gloves, hats, and shoes or disposable shoe coverlets
- Vented goggles or face shields with protective spectacles or goggles
- Welding or abrasive blasting helmets
- Respirators
Clothing and equipment must be available at no cost to employees.
