Lead Standard 29 CFR 1926.62
OSHA's Lead Standard for the Construction Industry (29 CFR 1926.62) details regulations related to metallic lead, inorganic lead compounds, and organic lead soaps.
This standard defines construction work as work for construction, alteration, or repair. This includes painting and decorating and also includes (but is not limited) to the following:
- Demolition or salvage of structures with lead or materials containing lead
- Removal or encapsulation of lead-containing materials
- New constructions, alterations, repairs, or renovations to structures with lead or materials containing lead
- Installation of lead-containing products
- Emergency response and cleanup to lead-contaminated areas or sites
- Transportation, disposal, storage, or containment of lead or lead-containing materials
- Maintenance operations related to any of the above-mentioned construction activities
