Scaffold Safety

Scaffolding can also present a fall hazard. In order to work on scaffolding safely, follow these basic instructions:

• Follow the manufacturer's instructions during the construction of scaffolding.
• Do not work on outdoor scaffolding during rainy or stormy weather.
• Do not climb on scaffolding that wobbles or leans.
• Inspect all scaffolding before climbing it; and replace any broken, worn, or rusted components.
• Do not use any scaffolding that is marked as "out of service."
• Scaffolding should not be supported by any unstable objects.
• Do not work on any scaffolding that is not fully planked.
