Musculoskeletal Disorders Hazard

Because many framing jobs require workers to hold and use nail guns weighing up to eight pounds for long periods of time and often in awkward positions, musculoskeletal disorders are a hazard of nail guns. Symptoms can include soreness or tenderness in the fingers, wrist, or forearm tendons or muscles. Symptoms can progress, causing pain and, in severe cases, an inability to work. No studies have shown that one trigger type is more or less likely to cause musculoskeletal disorders. Medical care should be sought if musculoskeletal pain occurs.
