Advance Warning Area: Rural Roadways
On rural roadways, where speeds are likely to be higher, the first warning sign should be placed at a distance in feet that is eight to twelve times the speed limit. This provides for a greater warning distance and gives drivers more time to react.
Divided roadways should include warning signs on both sides of the roadway.
