Crawling Boards (Chicken Ladders)
A crawling board (chicken ladder) means a supported scaffold consisting of a plank with cleats spaced and secured to provide footing, for use on sloped surfaces such as roofs.
Crawling boards must adhere to the following criteria:
- They must extend from the roof peak to the eaves when used in connection with roof construction, repair, or maintenance.
- They must be secured to the roof by ridge hooks or by means that meet equivalent criteria for strength and durability.
