Interior Hung Scaffolds

An interior hung scaffold is a suspension scaffold consisting of a platform suspended from the ceiling or roof structure by fixed length supports.

Interior hung scaffolds must adhere to the following criteria:

  • Scaffolds must be suspended only from the roof structure or other structural member such as ceiling beams.
  • Overhead supporting members (roof structure, ceiling beams, or other structural members) must be inspected and checked for strength before the scaffold is erected.
  • Suspension ropes and cables must be connected to the overhead supporting members by shackles, clips, thimbles, or other means that meet equivalent criteria for strength and durability.
