Vehicular Traffic
Employees exposed to public vehicular traffic must be provided with, and must wear, warning vests or other garments marked with or made of reflectorized or high-visibility material.
Exposure to Falling Loads
Adhere to the following regulations to protect employees from falling loads:
- Require employees to stand away from any vehicle being loaded or unloaded to avoid being struck by spillage or falling materials.
- Do not permit employees to be underneath loads handled by lifting or digging equipment.
- An operator may remain in the cab of a haulage vehicle whose payload is loaded by means of cranes, power shovels, loaders, or similar equipment only if a cab shield or canopy adequate to protect the operator from shifting or falling materials is present.
