HBV Treatment

Acute HBV is treated similarly to a cold or flu as there is no specific medication for HBV. Doctors typically recommend plenty of fluids, rest, and nutritious foods. Only rarely does a person need to be hospitalized.

Someone with chronic HBV should regularly see a doctor with experience treating hepatitis. There are several approved medications for the treatment of HBV, and an infected person needs to be constantly monitored.
