OPIM

OSHA lists the following as OPIM:

  1. These human bodily fluids:
    • Semen
    • Vaginal secretions
    • Cerebrospinal fluid
    • Synovial fluid
    • Pleural fluid
    • Pericardial fluid
    • Peritoneal fluid
    • Amniotic fluid
    • Saliva in dental procedures
    • Any bodily fluid that is visibly contaminated with blood
    • All bodily fluids in situations where it is difficult or impossible to differentiate between body fluids
  2. Any loose tissue or organ (other than intact skin) from a living or dead human being
  3. Any of the following, if they are known or likely to be infected by HIV, HBV, or HCV:
    • Cell, tissue, or organ cultures from humans or experimental animals
    • Blood, organs, or tissues from humans or experimental animals
    • Culture medium or other solutions (that is, a liquid or gel that supports the growth of microorganisms or cells, such as a petri dish)
