Procedures for Exposure Incident
In the instance of a needlestick injury, it is important to follow these steps immediately:
- Immediately wash the injury site with soap and water.
- Flush any splash to the nose, mouth, or skin.
- Irrigate eyes with water or saline.
- Seek evaluation and treatment as quickly as possible.
- Report the incident in compliance with the ECP.
