Record Keeping
The employer must maintain the following record:
- Employee's name
- Social Security number
- Hepatitis B vaccination status
- All examinations and evaluations required under the standard
- Healthcare professionals' written opinions
- Information provided to the healthcare professionals
Records must be kept for the duration of employment, plus at least 30 years. Training records must be kept for three years from the date on which the training occurred.
Medical records are confidential and may not be disclosed or reported without the employee's written consent. Upon request, employers must make medical records and training records available to employees and to anyone having the written consent of the employees.
