Ways Bloodborne Pathogens are Transmitted

Bloodborne pathogens are transmitted from one person to another through a needlestick, bite, cut, or abrasion. This can occur through direct contact, where the infected blood enters another body via a direct stick or by splashing into an entry site, such as the eyes, nose, or mouth. Bloodborne pathogens can also be transmitted through indirect contact when a person's skin touches another object that has blood or body fluid of an infected person on it.
