Derrick Load Ratings Chart
A durable and legible rating chart must accompany each derrick and be attached to the derrick and visible to anyone working with the machine. This applies to permanently installed derricks with fixed lengths of boom, guy, and mast.
The rating chart must include the following:
- The manufacturer's approved load ratings at corresponding ranges of boom angle or operating radii
- Specific lengths of components on which the load ratings are based
- Required parts for hoist reeving. Size and construction of rope may be shown either on the rating chart or in the operating manual.
For nonpermanent derricks, manufacturers must provide sufficient information from which capacity charts can be prepared for the particular installation. The capacity charts must be located on the derricks or at the jobsite office.
