Regulations
You can access regulations related to crane, derricks, and hoists by consulting the United States Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), which publishes the rules and regulations of the U.S. government. The CFR has 50 sections called titles, each for a general area of the U.S. government.
Title 29 regulations pertain to U.S. government labor laws. A large portion of Title 29 is regulations for the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA).
This course focuses on two parts of Title 29:
- §1910 Subpart N, "Materials Handling and Storage"
- §1926 Subpart CC, "Cranes and Derricks in Construction"
These regulations will be referenced throughout this course. You can access these codes through the U.S. Electronic Code of Federal Regulations.
