Ropes Inspection

Once a month, running ropes must be inspected. Inspections look for deteriorated ropes and situations that could lead to a loss of strength while lifting loads.

In addition, inspections are required for ropes that have not been used for a month or more. This inspection must look for deterioration of all types.

Certification records are required for these inspections. The record of the inspection must include the inspection date, the signature of the person who conducted the inspection, and an identification of the ropes that were inspected. This information must be kept on file and easily accessible to personnel.
