Chemical Labeling

Each container or original packaging of a commercially procured hazardous chemical must be tagged or marked with:

  • The chemical identity
  • Appropriate hazard warnings
  • The name and address of the responsible party (such as the manufacturer or importer)

Consumer products having labels that meet the requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Act are not required to have additional labeling under the HAZCOM standard.
