Preventing Potential Spark & Ignition

It is critical that such ignition sources be removed from proximity to crude oil and its products.

Special bonding and grounding systems are used to help prevent a potential spark and ignition.

Also, some types of chemicals must be kept away from crude oil, such as oxidizing agents, or those that can provide oxygen which feeds a fire. Other types of chemicals can generate their own heat, such as water-reactive substances (labeled "Dangerous When Wet").
