Worker Responsibilities
As a worker, it is your responsibility to comply with safety practices:
- Follow the warnings and cautions on labels and SDSs. You should read both thoroughly, and ask questions if you do not understand all of the information.
- Properly wear and maintain Personal Protective Equipment.
- Refrain from eating, drinking, and smoking around chemicals.
- Be aware of your surroundings, including smells, tastes, sounds, and sights. They can clue you in to chemical hazards. However, do not rely on your senses alone. Some hazards do not present any warnings.
- Behave safely, treat all chemicals as if they are dangerous, and make sure all your actions promote safety for you, your co-workers, and the community.
