Hot Work Safety Practices
General welding safe work practices include the following:
- Attach a lifeline to the authorized entrant who is welding in a confined space.
- Ensure the competent attendant maintains vigilance of the entrant throughout the welding process.
- Do not take a gas cylinder into a confined space.
- When not in use, remove electrodes from equipments.
- Ventilation within confined spaces must keep toxins below the PEL.
