Hot Work
Welding in confined spaces requires that additional safety procedures be followed in addition to those outlined on the entry permit. A written hot work program and a hot work permit are implemented when conducting "hot" operations within a confined space. Hot work activities include those that may result in sparks, fire, molten slag, or hot material that has the potential to cause fires or explosions. Specific activities include cutting, brazing, soldering, thawing pipes, torch applied roofing, grinding, and welding.
Hot Work Program
The Hot Work Written Program contains identification of hot work spaces, personnel responsibilities, hot work standard operating procedures, fire prevention measures, and training requirements.
