Controls
Controls help workers safely manage dipping, coating, and cleaning operations. Controls can be either administrative or engineering. Some example of controls are:
- Procedural Control - Refers to administrative tasks that help communicate changes in work procedures, such as written safety policies, rules, supervision, schedules, and training with the goal of reducing the duration, frequency, and severity of exposure to hazardous chemicals or situations.
- Engineering Control - Refers to the systems in place to reduce hazards in the workplace.
- Personal Protective Equipment - Refers to protective clothing, helmets, goggles, or other garments or equipment designed to protect the wearer's body from injury or infection.
- Education and Training - Refers to controls that exist so that best practices and information is presented in a manner that a recipient, such as an employee, is capable of understanding.
