Indoor Installations, More Than 600 Volts
The following requirements apply to indoor installations of equipment operating at more than 600 volts that are accessible to people other than qualified people:
- The installations must be made with metal-enclosed equipment or must be enclosed in a vault or in an area to which access is controlled by a lock.
- Metal-enclosed switchgear, unit substations, transformers, pull boxes, connection boxes, and other similar equipment must be marked with appropriate caution signs.
- Openings in ventilated dry-type transformers and similar openings in other equipment must be designed so that foreign objects inserted through these openings will be deflected from energized parts.
