Safety Lenses & Frames
There are three main types of frames available for safety lenses. Glasses may come with:
- Spatula temples
- Cable temples
- Headband temples
Lenses with spatula temples have pieces that fit over the wearer's ear, just like regular eyeglasses. Workers can choose either fixed or adjustable frames and either metal or plastic frames. Lenses that come with cable temples are just like spatula temples, but they fit around the wearer's ear. Workers can adjust headband temples for a better fit; they work best for those who move around a lot at work.
Bridges, pieces that connect the lenses themselves, come in several sizes. Like spatula and cable temples, workers can choose fixed or adjustable versions. However, bridges differ from other frames in that they may have adjustable nose pads with pliable arms.
No matter which frames you choose, make sure they fit comfortably and correctly. A proper fit ensures maximum protection.
