Colorimetric Detector Tubes
Colorimetric detector tubes are used for fast spot checks of air contamination, with different tubes available for specific chemical checks. They work by drawing air into the tube with a pump, and if the gas is present, the indicator substance will react and display a warning color.
Please note that this type of testing is not precise, with accuracy deviating anywhere from plus or minus 25% of true levels. Also, be aware that the presence of other chemicals in the air can affect the readings.
Use detector tubes to quickly determine if there may be a problem that needs further testing with more accurate equipment.
