Fall Arrest Equipment

Any time you are working in a confined space where there is a risk of injury from falling, you should use lifelines and a safety harness. Often, a tripod and winch system, along with a full-body harness, is used to prevent falls. If something should happen to you in a confined space, a safety harness connected to a winch can enable you to be pulled out quickly.

IMPORTANT: Do not use a winch system designed for lifting materials or supplies as a safety device unless it is specified for that use by the manufacturer.
