Protective Clothing
Rescuers should wear the appropriate protective clothing for the environment. Some examples of protective clothing include the following:
- Helmet or hard hat
- Headlamp or explosion-proof lighting
- SCBA mask or other respiratory device
- Earplugs
- Goggles
- Harness with attachments such as an emergency escape bottle, a carabineer, and a lifeline
- Boots
- Gloves
- Jumpsuit or disposable suit
