Respiratory Equipment
Entry into confined spaces often requires the use of respiratory protection because of the risk of toxic atmospheres. Selection and proper use of respiratory equipment requires training. Your training should include:
- Proper fitting procedures
- Use of the equipment
- Cleaning and proper storage
- Maintenance and replacement of cartridges and other replaceable parts
OSHA requires that a fresh breathing apparatus be worn unless the cause of emergency can be established as NOT atmosphere related.
