SAR or SABA
SAR and SABA devices supply clean air to the worker through an airline or hose from an outside location. In case of SAR line blockage or power failure, there is usually a small escape cylinder attached to enable the worker to evacuate the confined space safely.
The primary advantages of SAR devices are the dual air sources, their portability, and their compactness. The primary disadvantages of SAR devices are the limited travel distance based on the length of the hose (usually 300 feet) and the risk of hose entanglement.
