Personal Protective Equipment
Every employee and employer should be provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) before they handle hydrogen and associated equipment. It is the responsibility of the employer to provide PPE for workers.
Workers should wear full face shields, safety glasses, insulated or leather gloves, long-sleeved shirts, and pants without cuffs when working on liquid hydrogen systems. They should make sure that their pant legs are worn outside of their boots.
In the event of emergency situations, workers should always wear a fire-resistant suit and gloves.
