Monitoring for Contamination of Equipment & Tools
One simple way to conduct surface contamination sampling is to wipe a surface, such as a piece of equipment, PPE, or tools with a dry or wetted sampling filter and then analyze the contents. pH sticks and other direct-reading methods can also be used to instantly detect the presence and amounts of hazardous substances on a surface.
A newer method of surface monitoring is to use an immunoassay test kit, which works in a similar fashion to a home pregnancy test. Testers use a standard wipe method to gather potential hazardous materials and can then detect their presence directly on site, which saves companies both time and money.
