Laser Safety Committee

In large industries where laser use is commonplace, a laser safety committee may be created. The committee can include members with expertise in laser technology or in the assessment of laser hazards. These members may include the laser safety officer, technical management, engineer or scientist, education department member, and safety or industrial hygiene representative. The committee will work to establish and maintain policies and practices for the evaluation and control of laser hazards, including the recommendation of appropriate laser safety training programs and materials.
