Employee Responsibilities

All employees working with lasers are responsible for complying with safe work practices. At a minimum, employees are responsible for the following:

• An employee shall not energize or work with or near a laser unless authorized to do so by the supervisor for that laser.
• An employee shall comply with the safety rules and procedures prescribed by the LSO, and the employee shall be familiar with all applicable operating procedures.
• When an employee knows or suspects that an accident involving a laser has occurred or that there is a potential for injury, he or she must immediately notify the LSO.

Remember, safety is EVERYONE'S responsibility.
