Laser Safety Regulations - IEC

The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization that publishes international standards for products that have an electronic or electrical component. The laser safety standard issued by the IEC is 60825-1, and it classifies lasers similar to the ANSI Z136.1 classifications detailed later in this course. It also introduces the concept of Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) limits.
