In addition to environmental factors, there are various human factors that can contribute to the risk of injuries. Human risk factors can be divided into physical and behavioral categories.
Physical human risk factors include:

- Fatigue
- Stress or illness
- Medications, drugs, or alcohol
- Poor eyesight
Behavioral human risk factors include:
- Hurrying or rushing
- Taking unapproved shortcuts
- Not paying attention to your surroundings
- Carrying heavy or cumbersome objects, or carrying too many objects at once
