Supervisor Responsibilities

Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that workers under their supervision follow safe work practices. Supervisors have the following responsibilities in regard to ladder and stairway safety:

• Provide safety orientations and on-the-job training as directed by the employer.
• Encourage workers to inform you about their ladder safety concerns or questions. Take appropriate actions to address any issues brought to your attention.
• Watch workers to make sure that they are following ladder safety requirements.
• Specify any fall protection equipment that should be used.
