Anaphylaxis
Anaphylaxis and lesser allergic reactions can occur when a person is exposed to many different types of biological hazards, not just contact with poisonous plants. It is vital that you remember the symptoms of severe allergic reactions listed previously.
If the victim has had an allergic reaction before, he or she may have an EpiPen® or other allergy kit. Help the victim administer it, if necessary.
The victim could even lose consciousness or have other severe reactions due to anaphylactic shock, a life threatening condition resulting from a severe allergic reaction.
If the person is not breathing, or there is no pulse, call 911; CPR must be started immediately by a trained person.
