Plant Allergens
Plants can also produce allergens, such as pollen (the most common type). The distribution of allergens can be affected by weather; hot, dry, windy days are worse, while rainy days keep allergens from spreading.
They also vary by the time of year. Trees and some flowers produce pollen in spring and early summer, while grasses and other flowers produce it in the summer. Ragweed and other types of plants produce during late summer or early fall.
Many news reports include pollen or allergen counts with the weather report.
