Workstation Adjustments - Work Copy & Reference Materials
The best arrangement of your computer and work materials is the one that feels best for your own workflow. If you spend more time reading reference material than your monitor, then your copy stand should be placed directly in front of you with your monitor off to the side. However, if your workflow is mostly on your monitor, then the reference copy should be placed to the side. In all cases, reference materials should be propped up on a stand and not lying flat on your desk.
Try to place your reference materials and monitor at the same height and as close to the same distance from your eyes as possible to minimize refocusing your eyes as you look back and forth between them.
