Hazards - Eye Injuries
Eye injuries can be caused by dust, flying debris, oil droplets, chemicals and other hazards. You should use safety glasses with side shields, at a minimum; you should attach an eyewear strap to keep the glasses handy around your neck.
Safety goggles provide extra protection by providing a seal around the eye socket. This can protect against chemicals or for use over prescription eyewear.
Protective eyewear must have the ANSI Z87 mark on the lenses or frames.
Refer to Compliance Training Online's Personal Protective Equipment course for more details on protective eyewear and other PPE.
