PPE Levels
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for oil spill cleanup typically involves modified clothing gear from a level of classification called D.
The levels are:
- A, the highest level of protection for eyes, skin, and respiration
- B or B+, the highest level of respiratory protection, but less protection for skin
- C, less respiratory and skin protection is required
- D or D modified, work-style clothing with minimal protection, mostly from nuisance contamination
