Hands and Arm Protection

Hand and arm protection takes different forms: gloves, finger guards, arm sleeves, wristlets, and so on. We will focus on gloves, the most common hand protection.

Gloves can protect against hazards such as:

  • Burns (chemical and thermal)
  • Bruises
  • Abrasions and cuts
  • Punctures and penetration
  • Fractures and impact
  • Amputations
  • Chemical exposures
  • Temperatures (extremes)
  • Shock

Body protection can include arms (and legs).
