Be Silica-Savvy
All workers should know which work tasks can lead to silica exposure. They should participate in training, exposure monitoring, health screenings, and surveillance programs to check on any adverse health effects caused by crystalline silica exposure.
If you are concerned about the dust in your workplace, talk to your employer, employee representative, or union representative. Ask for the results of air sampling done at your worksite.
Whenever possible, work with your employer to prevent silicosis at your worksite.
