Designing a Program

After deciding what potential hazards and first aid situations your workplace should address, it is time to design a first aid and safety training program for all employees, or, at the very least, a core set of employees. The course should aim not only to teach employees how to respond to an emergency situation but how to prevent the situation from occurring altogether. Prevention is the first line of defense in a first aid program, followed closely by preparedness.

OSHA recommends that all program details be put into writing for ease of reference as well as liability reasons.
