Slip, Fall, & Trip Hazards

If you are working outdoors around water, performing work such as oil spill cleanup, exercise extreme caution. Slip, fall, and trip hazards are potentially everywhere in such an environment.

Surfaces including debris, rocks, mud, boat decks, steps and ladders can become slippery from oil. Sometimes you will be required to walk or wade through water, where you cannot see potential hazards.

Also, you might be required to handle or carry various items as part of your work in or near water: containers, boxes, wildlife, hoses, tools, and so on. This increases the potential slip, trip, and fall hazards.
